Objective: to make a visual advertisement for the chosen product, in the time alloted.
Medium: All, including prose, poetry, and video.
Selection of product: I will hit the "Random Page" button on the English Wikipedia until I come to the page of a product (not necessarily branded) or company that is marketed on more than one continent (IE: both north and south America, or North America and Europe, etc)
Deadline: all entries will be due 1 week after the product is announced.
How to submit an entry: Post a comment on the page where the contest was announced, with a thumbnail linking to the submission
Voting: after the submission deadline has passed, people who wish to vote will send an email to Riffraffselbow@gmail.com with a topic in the following format: "DEV-AD Challenge vote <name of creator of selection>". All votes that do not follow this format will be ignored. Voting twice will get both of your votes thrown out.
Prizes: as of yet, there will be no prizes, except for the notoriety that would come with winning the challenge (which, admittedly, is not much, at least yet). I am under 18, and as such, cannot legally buy anything to give away.
I will not be participating in the contest as to avoid any questions of Enron-esqe counting of the votes.
We are currently in the preliminary phase, I'm not sure if I will do this, I'm currently testing the waters of Dev-art, to see what the response to something like this will be. Questions and Comments can be directed to Riffraffselbow@gmail.com with the topic of "Dev-AD Challenge: <summary of questions>", or to my PM box.
